Lucknow: Not only the book lovers of Lucknow but from across the globe were in shock since Wednesday morning when the noted book seller Ram Advani passed away. He was in his 90s.

Migrated to India from Karachi in Pakistan in 1921, Advani came to Lucknow in May 1947 with an aim to establish his book selling business. He fell in love with the city of Nawabs and stayed here till his last breathe.

His fan following can be determined with the fact that condolence message from across the world have been pouring in on social media sites.

About Ram Advani:

  • Ram Advani's father migrated to India from Karachi in the 1920s.
  • The family owned a book store which achieved iconic status among the book lovers.
  • He became a bookseller after getting influenced by the humility of litterateur.
  • He established his shop in Hazrat Ganj area in 1951.
