CAA burns UP: Lko, Sambhal witness fulmination; Police uses tear gas

The protest against CAA has turned violent in Uttar Pradesh. Cities including Lucknow and Sambhal are worst affected, where protesters challenging the Citizenship act have started to destroy public properties and news of burning buses and police vehicles is taking rounds.

Lucknow: When the whole country is witnessing a nation wide protest against Citizenship Amendment Act, people in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow have come in streets to challenge this 'discriminatory act' despite of police crack down on protesters amid the imposition of section 144 in the state.

The protest against CAA has turned violent in Uttar Pradesh. Cities including Lucknow and Sambhal are worst affected, where protesters challenging the Citizenship act have started to destroy public properties and news of burning buses and police vehicles is taking rounds.

Where four buses have been set on fire in Sambhal, visuals of destroying and burning vehicles from Lucknow are also going viral.

However, police is using batons and tear gas to disperse the protesters and stop them from further fulmination.

The protest has been carried out in various part of the city. Some areas of Kaiserbagh and Khadra are badly affected due to protest.

And heavy police force has been deployed to control the situation and restore peace and order in the city.

It is to be mentioned that recently, students of Nadwa College and Integral University had protested against CAA, following which the colleges were closed and examination dates were extended.
