Lucknow: At least 51 girls were rescued on Friday after the raids were conducted at Jamia Khadija Tul Leelanvaat Madrasa in Shahadatganj area here on Friday.

The manager Md. Tayyab Jiah was arrested after the girls accused him of sexually exploitation and assault in a written complaint.

An FIR has been lodged against the manager for molestation, fraud and some other serious sections of the IPC. The probe, however, the incident is on.

It may be mentioned that around 125 girls studied at the Madrasa but only 51 girls were present at the time of raids.

Where police has taken action against the manager of the Madrasa on the basis of complains raised by the girls, the nearby dwellers have claimed that it is a girls hostel.

The matter has been reported to the Child Welfare Committee and the statements of the girls have been recorded by the police.
