KGMU Chancellor Ravi Kant to prolong his stay in university

Lucknow: UP Governor Ram Naik extended the term of the King George Medical University Chancellor Prof. Ravi Kant for one month. This decision is necessitated due to possible delay in selection of new chancellor for KGMU.

Chancellor Ravi Kant whose tenure is due to end on April 10th 2017 has been given this extension only till the selection of new chancellor, stated Principal Secretory to the Governor Juthika Patankar.

60 years old Ravi Kant has been attributed several prestigious designations in his lifetime. Before becoming Vice Chancellor of KGMU he was head of surgery at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal.

He was also awarded Padma Shri and Yash Bharti in 2016.
