Lucknow: After being released on bail from Mau district jail, expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dayashankar Singh on Sunday challenged Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati to contest and win against his wife in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.

“The BSP leaders have been making damaging remarks against my elderly mother, wife and minor daughter which is indeed deplorable. The party supremo claims herself to be the Devi (goddess) of Dalits. Hence, I dare her to contest the next Lok Sabha elections from any seat of her choice as I declare that my wife Swati Singh will definitely fight against her as an independent candidate and defeat her with a wide margin,” said Dayashankar while addressing a press conference in Lucknow on Sunday.

It may be mentioned that Dayashankar was granted bail by a local court of Mau district in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday last and it was his first interaction with the media persons ever since.

What else Dayashankar said:

  • I still say that Mayawati sells tickets.
  • I had admitted what I said was wrong and even apologised for my inappropriate remark against the BSP chief.
  • Even after I was expelled from my party, they (BSP members) did not hold back and registered a case against me.
  • I was ready to face anything but could not tolerate anyone speaking ill of my family members.
  • My family could never get justice.
  • UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav would not get Senior BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui arrested as he was scared of losing the Muslim vote-bank.
  • How could a carpenter’s daughter (Mayawati) manage to become one of the wealthiest persons in UP?
  • How could a home-guard (Naseemuddin) become so well off?
  • All the questions will be answered if the government orders a CBI probe against them.
