Lucknow: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supporters from across Uttar Pradesh have started to gather in the state capital on Thursday morning in protest against the derogatory remark of expelled Bharataiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dayashankar on party chief Mayawati demanding former's arrest.

The police forces have been deployed in the Hazaratganj area of Lucknow in view of large number of BSP supporters hitting streets. The additional security is in place around state headquarters of BJP situated in Hazaratganj area.

The protest of the irked Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) workers over derogatory remark by Dayashankar is also being seen as a show of strength of the party ahead of coming Vidhan Sabha elections in the state.

Lucknow District Magistrate Raj Shekhar has asked the concerned district officials to make proper deployment of police force in view to avoid any untoward incident. The BSP workers will stage their protest at 1000 hours at Ambedkar statue.
