Dacoits kill two, SO placed under suspension in UP district

Hardoi: Some dacoits raided two houses in Shekh Sarai area under Paali police station, about 55kms from Hardoi district headquarters, killed two persons and decamped with a booty worth lakhs on Sunday night.

The Station Officer (SO) Sanjay Yadav, who was in inebriated state at the time of incident, was placed under immediate suspension, the Inspector general of Police (IG), Lucknow zone A Satish Ganesh said.

The dacoits first stormed the house of one Bhoori Devi and killed her before looting the house. They barged into another house soon after and killed one Manikant Bajpayee, the brother of former nagar panchayat chairman.

IG, who reached the spot on Monday morning, said the SO was not only lax but was drunk and detained the complainants in police station. The search for the criminals had been launched.
