Lucknow: Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Singh Yadav on Monday announced that the party would not give ticket to any criminal in the coming Assembly elections.

“I assure you the party will not give ticket to any person with criminal image”he said. At the same time he asked but the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to do the same.

Speaking at a T V channel show here, he clarified that mafia-turned politician Mukhtar Ansari’s name was never considered for entry into the party. His brother Afzal Ansari was, of course, was in the reckoning.

He was highly critical of the Centre. He alleged he has always neglected the state. The U P share in the central pool has dropped by Rs 9500 crore.
