Balrampur: Various Hindu organisations and activists in this town of Uttar Pradesh were up in arms against the police demanding immediate arrests of the guilty responsible for insulting Hindu Goddess on social media. The picture being circulated on the social media has shown a dog urinating on the picture of the Goddess.

The problem started when it went viral on social media platforms which prompted Hindu activists to hit the streets demanding arrest and NSA against the culprits who deliberately tried to hurt sentiments of the Hindus.

What is the matter?

  • A message on social media had gone viral showing a dog urinating on the picture of a Hindu Goddes.
  • It agitated Hindu organisations who demanded action against those who circulated it.
  • The activists of Bharatiya Janta party, Hindu Yuva Vahini and RSS gheraoed the Kotwali in protest.
  • They also demanded NSA against the guilty.
  • Gave one day time to the police to act or face the agitation.

What police said?

  • One person was arrested in this connection on Sunday.
  • He named other four persons in this regard.
  • Search for others was on, police said.
  • Adequate security was being maintained in view of tension among Hindu community.
