CBI raids IAS officer, B Chandrakala’s Lucknow, Delhi residences

The  CBI has taken up the case on Allahabad High Court's instructions, where 12 locations are being raided over illegal sand mining case in Delhi and UP.

Lucknow: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has raided, on Saturday IAS officer B Chandrakala’s Lucknow and Delhi residences in connection with illegal sand mining case here, on January 5.

The CBI has taken up the case on Allahabad High Court's instructions, where 12 locations are being raided over illegal sand mining case in Delhi and UP.

The residences of senior officers, including IAS officer B Chandrakala, who is famous on social media for her anti-corruption crusade, were also raided in connection with the case, they said.

B Chandrakala is on study leave and was in her Delhi residence at the time of CBI raids.

A 10-member team from Delhi is conducting raid in Chandrakala’s Lucknow based flat at Sarojini Naidu Marg, in Lucknow. This flat is registered in the name of her daughter.

Chandrakala has been the DM of several districts including Meerut, Bulandshahr and Bijnaur.

It is being told that she also owns a property in Delhi, where too a search operation is going on.

In May 2018, Chandrakala returned to her native cadre Uttar Pradesh.

In Akhilesh Yadav government, Chandrakala was posted as a District Magistrate for the first time in Hamirpur district.
