BSP Chief Mayawati accuses BJP of shielding Dayashankar Singh

Ranchi: Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati on Wednesday accused the BJP of protecting the expelled party leader Dayashankar Singh from police. A non bailable warrant (NBW) was issued against Singh who has been absconding after making derogatory remarks against her.

Mayawati’s allegations came a day after Dayashankar moved a petition in the Lucknow High Court, seeking stay on his arrest.

What Mayawati said?

• Dayashankar was last seen offering prayers at a temple in Jharkhand
• Mayawati said that Dayashankar was sent to Jharkhand on party’s directives as BJP is in power in the state

• BSP chief charged BJP with using Dayashankar’s wife Swati Singh against her

It may be mentioned that Dayashankar Singh was expelled for six years from the party after he made derogatory remarks against Mayawati. BSP supporters took to the streets in the capital city Lucknow, demanding his arrest and raised abusive slogans against Singh and his female family members.
