Birthdays coincide, personalities don’t; Mayawati, Dimple share birthdays

Lucknow: January 15 is a prominent day for the citizens of Uttar Pradesh as it mark the birthdays of two rival politicians of the state who have now joint hands against BJP.

Very few know that former UP CM, Akhilesh's wife and SP party MP Dimple Yadav shares her birthday with BSP supremo, Mayawati.

For the very first time, both the ladies are expected to have a joint celebration after the two parties decided to seal the deal on a grand-alliance at a marathon meeting held at Mayawati’s residence.

On their birthday, Newstrack.com gives you a sneak peek into the lives of both the female politicians who share a common interest, yet their personalities are miles apart from each other:

-Bahujan Samaj Party chief, Mayawati is known for her luxurious way of living, spending huge amounts on her birthday celebrations, including big cakes, garlands of currency notes and lavish birthday celebrations. Dimple , however, likes to keep it simple. Her birthday celebrations are sober and are only confined to her family.

-Mayawati is known for her over-hyped image, whether it is for her political statements or her involvement in various scams. Whereas, Samajwadi Party MP, Dimple has always remained under the covers and gives lesser public appearances as compared to Maya. She comes out in the open as and when her party needs her.

-Mayawati comes from a humble background as her father was a post office employee and unlike her brothers who were sent to private schools, she was sent to low profile government school. Despite growing up in a conservative family, Mayawati completed her LLB and B.Ed and started preparing for Civil Services. Under Kanshi Ram’s influence, she joined BSP. Later, she defied all odds and became the first Dalit Chief Minister of UP. She served four terms as the CM of Uttar Pradesh. Her rags to riches story is an inspiration for a lot of people who strive to create their identity.

On the contrary, Dimple Yadav has an army background, her father, R C S Rawat was a retired Col. She did her schooling from Pune, Delhi and Lucknow, she didn’t have to struggle much as she received much accolades after marrying Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, she is among the few leaders, who was elected unopposed, as the two candidates withdrew their nominations.

Though, the two share a lot in common be it their birthdays, coming from political backgrounds, two being the powerful and influential women but their ideologies and personalities are poles apart.
