PHOTOS: Asian Para Badminton champion IAS Suhas returns to India

Azamgarh: After clinching gold in Asian Para Badminton Championship 2016 in Beijing, Azamgarh District Magistrate Suhas L Y returned to India on Wednesday.

Suhas, who is a 2007 batch IAS officer of UP cadre, received an overwhelming welcome by the people of the district who hit the roads in huge numbers to congratulate their DM for his victorious run in the reputed tournament.

Several institutions in the district organised road shows where Suhas was welcomed by young boys, girls and common people of the district with flowers and bouquets.

His welcome ceremony was held at Sukhdev Pehalwan Sports stadium which was joined by commissioner, DIG, chief development officer and additional DM administration.

At the ceremony, where everyone poured praises over the champion, Suhas LY had some advice for the youngsters of the country, as he said, "If you will consider your aim as your life, you would succeed for sure. Just don't think about the results and keep doing your work with full dedication."

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav also took to Twitter to express proud over Suhas' victory in Asian Paralympic Championship.

District Information Officer informed that the state government has decided to confer the DM with the reputed Yash Bharti award.
