Anupriya Patel seeks introspection of reservation issue

Lucknow: Minister of state for health & family welfare Anupriya Patel on Saturday said that the issue of reservation is a matter of introspection so as to ensure its benefits to people genuinely in need.

She was speaking during her visit to Ambedkar Mahasabha in Lucknow.

It may be mentioned that RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat had faced criticism during the Bihar Assembly Elections for raising the same issue.

What Anupriya Patel said?

• It is to be introspected as to why the reservation benefits did not reach the target class
• It is in the constitution that Dalits should get 22.5 per cent reservation
• It should be introspected whether the eligible ones are getting reservation during school and investigation
• The representation of two communities – Dalits and OBC in the judiciary is just 3 per cent despite 97% of the cases were related to them
• We must find ways to soar the graph from 3 per cent
