UP CM Akhilesh to embark on his ' rath yatra ' from November 3

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh yadav will embark on his ambitious 'rath yatra' starting from Lucknow on November 3 next. In the first phase, the UP CM will go up to Kanpur via Unnao travelling about 80 kms during which he will propagate the ruling Samajwadi Party's message of development.

The 'Rath':

  • Akhilesh will take up his 'rath yatra' by a specially fabricated bus.
  • It has a hydraulic dais on which he will address the public.
  • He will stop en route to interact with the public and tell them about the achievements of his over four year-old government.

Who will participate

  • It was to start from October 3 but had to be postponed owing to internal scuffle in the party. Finally, Akhilesh took a call and made announcement to go alone on the yatra.
  • The senior party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav had earlier announced to participate in yatra but it looks a distant possibility.
  • SP's foundation day celebration will also take place on November 5 and CM will be back from Kanpur to take part in the function.
