Lucknow Metro to receive 'Green Mobility Project of the Year' Award
UPMRC's Lucknow Metro Project was adjudged as the 'Green Mobility Project' of the Year in the Rail Infra and Mobility Business Digital Awards, 2020. The nominations were invited from industry leaders and corporates in a total of 33 award categories from 10th May 2020 to 30th June 2020.
Lucknow: Kumar Keshav emerged as the winner of the award amongst various industry leaders and corporates for his remarkable achievements and exemplary contribution towards the infrastructure industry.
Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited has been announced as the winner of ‘Infra-Man of the Year’ 2020 by the Rail Infra and Mobility Business Digital Awards (RIMBDA) today. This is the 1st edition of Rail Infra and Mobility Business Digital Awards. Shri Kumar Keshav who is presently heading the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation was chosen by the jury panel as the ‘Infra-Man of the Year’ 2020 for his remarkable achievements and exemplary contribution to the infrastructure sector.
With this UPMRC's Lucknow Metro Project was adjudged as the 'Green Mobility Project' of the Year in the Rail Infra and Mobility Business Digital Awards, 2020. The nominations were invited from industry leaders and corporates in a total of 33 award categories from 10th May 2020 to 30th June 2020.

An Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer and a gold medallist engineer from IIT-Kanpur (M. Tech.) and IIT-Roorkee (B.E.), Kumar Keshav took over as UPMRC's Managing Director on August 18, 2014, formerly known as Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation and has not taken even a single leave since then. The whole project work of Lucknow Metro Rail Project so far has been completed under the astute leadership of the Managing Director in the last four and half years. Lucknow Metro has achieved the distinction of being the fastest-ever execution of the metro project in the country. Even contemporary Metro projects in the country have not been able to match up with the speed of deliverance as compared to LMRC’s strength in project execution.
He had earlier been associated with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation wherein he contributed tremendously towards the successful implementation of Phase-I and Phase-II of Delhi Metro project. He is also credited with completing the Central Secretariat - Badarpur Metro project on 3rd October 2010 - just on the day of the start of the Commonwealth Games. Approximately 70,000 people used this facility to reach the venue of the games. He also has to his credit construction of first Standard Gauge.
Shri. Kumar Keshav has also undertaken a very prestigious international Heavy Haul Rail Project in Queensland, Australia for Hancock Coal Pty Limited, Brisbane as Project Director - Rail from June'12 to August'14. As Project Director - Rail, he leads the definition of the project scope, design basis, project scheduling for USD 3.3 Billion 510- kilometre long heavy-haul standard gauge rail corridor from Mine to Port for Alpha Coal project in Australia and completely designed the implementation strategy, cost estimation and returns with for EPC contract finalization with international firms.
