Lucknow: The festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated with great pomp across the country. This time Janmashtami will be celebrated on 30th August. Born to Devaki and Vasudeva in jail in Mathura, Lord Krishna was the eighth carnation of Lord Vishnu. In order to save their son from evil King Kansa, he was taken across the river to Vrindavan, by his father Vasudeva where he was brought up by Yasoda and Nanda. On the occasion of Janmashtami, the markets in the capital Lucknow were lit up, shops were decorated all over Lucknow. Large number of people are reaching out and shopping.

This time, people are buying a lot of Lord Krishna's swings and clothes in the market. This time different types of dresses like Radha Krishna have come in the market, which people are buying in large numbers. Shopkeeper Vijay told that this time the highest demand is for designer swings.

This time there is a lot of variety in the idols of Lord Krishna in the market. The idols of Kanha playing the flute, sitting in the cradle, eating butter, flute-toned posture in child form, wearing peacock feathers, sleeping posture are being liked more by the devotees. Whose price ranges from Rs 100 to Rs 1000.
