Kanpur: Unfazed by nasty welcome by the Congress workers, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dr Subramanian Swamy on Saturday fired yet another salvo on the ongoing Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) controversy demanding to rename it as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose University

Dr Swamy said that the time has come that the JNU should be cleansed and all unwanted elements should be thrown out of it.

Earlier, Dr Swamy had demanded that the JNU should be shut down in May for "fumigating" the hostels by rejecting students who do not swear allegiance to the Indian Constitution.

"Those having proven record of being jihadis, Naxalites and LTTE terrorists must be expelled from the university along with those students who have not graduated from bachelor's courses and those who have not got their master's degrees in three years should be expelled,” he stated.

He was in Kanpur to address a national conference on the subject of Global Terrorism at VSSD college.
