Eunuchs do PM Modi's makeup with lipstick and bindi in UP
Kanpur: In protest against the Union Government’s decision to hike excite duty on bullion trading, a group of eunuchs, along with bullion traders of the city, ornamented the posters of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at Govindnagar locality in Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.
''The Modi led government is a step ahead than the British rulers, who drained most of the precious ‘gold’ out of India. The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) government is today, doing what the Britishers did while ruling the country,” said Kajal Kiran, the former Corporator of the area.
- The group of eunuchs applied 'lipstick' and 'bindi', to the posters of the PM and the Union Finance Minister.
- They presented ‘bangles’ and ‘sarees’ before the posters.
- The protesters also tied posters, of the PM and Union Finance Minister, with 'black' gas balloons and released them.
- The merchants have threatened to go on a hunger strike if the excite duty is not restored.
It has been 36 days since numerous bullion merchants of the city have downed their shutters in protest against Union Government’s move to increase excise duty on bullion trading as proclaimed by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the lately presented Union budget.
