6 died, several trapped as cold storage collapses in Kanpur

Kanpur: At least six people have lost their lives and several others sustained injuries in a building collapse in Shivrajpur area of Kanpur.

The incident took place following the gas leak in a cold storage, triggering an explosion.

As per the SP Rajesh Kumar, the gas leak began in the noon.

Several others are still trapped. The rescue operation is on.

Teams of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) and the Provisional Armed Constabulary (PAC) have also reached the spot and carrying out rescue operations, said Kanpur SSP Akash Kalahari.

Injured have been rushed to the nearby hospitals and team of doctors are present on the accident site to provide the medical aide.
