Kanpur Metro: UPMRC completes first pile cap construction post Lockdown

After resuming civil construction of Viaduct and Stations on 15th May, 2020, first Pile Cap has been completed today; MD Shri Keshav congratulated the Metro engineers.

Kanpur: After resuming civil construction of Viaduct and Stations on 15th May, 2020, first Pile Cap has been completed today; MD Shri Keshav congratulated the Metro engineers.

During the nationwide lockdown 4.0 implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) had received approval to resume the civil construction work of viaduct and stations by the District Administration of Kanpur on May 15, 2020.

After getting green signal from the local administration, the civil work of the Priority Corridor being built between IIT to Motijheel was resumed with limited laborers and UPMRC team has completed the construction of first pile cap today. Besides, UPMRC has also mobilized six Rig machines for piling work and working with the available limited workers. Post lock down UPMRC has also constructed 64 Piles till now.

Congratulating the team of UPMRC engineers on starting the work again with full spirit, aiming for new achievements, Managing Director, Shri Kumar Keshav said, "Unavoidable circumstances can slow down the pace of our work for some time, but can't stop us. After the consent of the Central and State Governments, permission was received from the local administration and after that, the work has been resumed with available limited workers in a phased manner."
