Kalyan Singh dies at 89: UP declares 3-day mourning; PM Modi to pay tribute to former CM in Lucknow

Lucknow: Kalyan Singh, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, died in the night on 21 August. This news has caused a wave of mourning in the whole country. According to the information, the last rites of Kalyan Singh will be held on August 23 at Ganga Ghat. This day will also be a public holiday in the whole of UP.

Kalyan Singh Death: 3-day State mourning

Giving official information on the death of Kalyan Singh, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also announced state mourning for three days across the state.

Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath has told that the body of Kalyan Singh will be taken to Aligarh on Sunday evening. Arrangements are being made there for the darshan of the people. On the next day, on 23rd, his body will be brought to his birthplace and Karmabhoomi Atrauli. After darshan of the people here, the last rites will be performed at Ganga Ghat in Narora.

Three days of state mourning has been announced in UP on the death of former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh. The BJP has postponed all its programs for the day. National President JP Nadda is coming to Lucknow on Sunday to pay tribute to the late leader.

PM Modi to pay last respect to Kalyan Singh ji in Lucknow:

According to the information, the Prime Minister will reach Kalyan Singh's residence at 10 am to pay last respect and tribute. Although it has not been officially confirmed yet.

PM Modi said in his condolence message- 'I am saddened by the demise of Kalyan Singh ji. "Generations to come will remain forever grateful to Kalyan Singh Ji for his contributions towards India's cultural regeneration. He was firmly rooted in Indian values and took pride in our centuries old traditions," PM Modi said in a tweet.

Last rites in Bulandshahr:

According to the information, the body of Kalyan Singh will remain in the Vidhan Bhawan from 9 am to 11 am on Sunday. After this, from 11 am to 1 pm, BJP will be kept at the state headquarters for darshan.

After the tribute here, the body will be taken to Aligarh at 2 pm. There too the body will be kept in the stadium for public viewing. On Monday i.e. 23, his body will be kept for public darshan at Atrauli in his birthplace and Karmabhoomi Aligarh. After this, he will be cremated with state honors on the banks of the Ganges in Narora in the evening.
