SP moves EC against Kalyan Singh for campaigning in favour of BJP

Aligarh: In a complaint to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Monday sought action against Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh for campaigning in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In a letter to EC, the district SP president Ashok Yadav said that Kalyan Singh has been camping in the district for the last four days and campaigning for the BJP. "It is unbecoming of a person holding gubernatorial post which demands action," the letter said.

Ashok Yadav said that it has been a gross violation of Election Code of Conduct as Kalyan Singh is trying to influence the voters despite being holding such post.

Aligarh is scheduled to go for polls in first phase of UP elections 2017 on February 11.
