New Delhi: Atrocities against women in Uttar Pradesh are on its ever high. In spite of hundreds laws against rape cases, people get away with it like a game. What is to be blamed? Police or judiciary? Where accused either never get caught or roam freely on bail.

In times, when the infamous gang-rape and murder case of Hyderabad surfaced on internet, a question on women safety in India took a prime spot in slogans, protests and on news-paper headlines. Suddenly, the whole media was seen concerned over women safety and demanded strict laws and fast track courts, to instill fear of law in people.

But do you realize there are N-numbers of rape cases in Uttar Pradesh that still pending or say have lost in the court files. Victims that are either got killed by the convicts or committed suicides or if neither the two, are still waiting tirelessly to witness the day when they get justice.

Here are few cases from Uttar Pradesh Police records that put the humanity to shame but convicts still breathing fresh air:

Rape with a Three-year old in Unnao:

This horrific case of sexual assault on a three-year-old girl in Makhi village of Unnao district, came to light after a passers-by heard the cry of the girl and rushed to save her.

The accused of this case is a minor who tried to rape a 3-year-old when he saw her playing in a field close to her house. The accused allegedly tried to rape her, but girl started shouting, which alerted her uncle who came to fields searching for her. After seeing the crowd, the accused tried to escape, however, he was caught by the locals. After beating him up, the villagers handed over the accused to the police.

On the complaint of the victim's father, the police registered a case of rape, Paxo act and threatening.

Gang-rape victim gets life-threats:

A gang rape victim of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, was threatened with murder for not compromising. Along with the accused, the village Pradhan is also putting pressure on the aggrieved party.

The incident took place when a 15-year-old minor girl left the home and was ambushed on her way by four youths from the village, who kidnapped her and gang-raped her in the forest. When she protested they threatened to kill her.

On December 2, the victim's family filed a case against the four youths at the Hastinapur police station. Shockingly, four days have been passed and still victim's statement hasn't been recorded in the court, by the Hastinapur police.

Rape victim tries to end her life:

This case is also from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Fed up by the lack of action against the accused, the women, tried to commit suicide infront of SSP office. However, due to the readiness of the female police-officer, she was saved from inflicting harm on herself.

The woman drenched herself in kerosene oil and was about lit the match when a female police-officer snatched kerosene and matches from her hand.

It is to be mentioned that the woman had filed a rape case and the police had registered a final report in the matter. This upset the victim and seeing no other option she tried to commit suicide.

Video went viral of a rape victim:

This incident is of Dec 3, when a 15-year-old girl was allegedly held hostage and gang-raped by three minors in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district.

According to the police reports, the girl had gone to field to get some vegetables when the accused held her hostage and gang-raped her. Sadly, the accused were her relatives.

However, all the four accused have been arrested, according to police.

Teacher sexually assaults a student

Putting a question mark on the pious relationship of a teacher and student, an inter college teacher in Baraut area of ​​Baghpat district, tried to rape a student. Learning about the incident, family members of the student called the village panchayat. The teacher was summoned and the panchayat asked his resign from the school.

Uttar Pradesh: A three year-old girl raped by her cousin

The teacher defying panchayat's take, continued coming to school, to which the family filed a complaint with the police. The matter is under investigation.

Torched the victim after rape, in Sambhal

On November 21, a horrific rape case was registered from Nakhasa police station area in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh.

A teenager was raped by a boy living in her neighborhood when she was alone at home. The boy forcibly dragged her from the house and raped the victim.

When her family lodge a case against him with the police, he went to victim's house and threatened the mother and daughter.

After this, he set her ablazed by throwing kerosene oil on her. She was then taken to Sambhal District Hospital in a critical condition at night from where she was referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi and the victim died on November 30.

You sure have heard of the phrase, "Justice delayed is justice denied". Rightly, the phrase points out the loopholes in our judicial system, where convicts take advantage of long proceedings and think they can commit any crime and could come out on bail. To burst this fallacy among people our law has to be strict and speedy so that everyone fear before doing any such crime.
