Hindu Mahasabha leader arrested after firing at Gandhi’s effigy
Pandey was quoted saying by media that she had started a new tradition to recreate the assassination on January 30. She also said this is how we celebrate Dussehra festival by burning Ravana's effigy. Ravana was a demon king in the Hindu epic Ramayana.
Aligarh: After the 'Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha' recreated the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on his 71st death anniversary, the police has now filed criminal cases against its members and has arrested 13 people, including Pooja Shakun Pandey, who shot at Gandhi's effigy with a toy gun.
Aligarh ASP Neeraj Jadon said, "Members of Hindu Mahasabha yesterday enacted Nathuram Godse's assassination of MahatmaGandhi. They were glorifying Nathuram Godse."

On the occasion of Martyrs' Day, when the nation remembers its 'Father of the Nation', Hindu Mahasabha National Secretary, Pooja Shakun Pandey celebrated his death anniversary by shooting at Bapu's effigy with a toy gun filled with red liquid which left the effigy bled red, while, they glorified Nathuram Godse, who assassinated Gandhi on January 30, 1948, by garlanding his statue and distributing sweets. Later, a video of the incident went viral on social media.
The incident took place on Wednesday in the Naurangabad locality of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
The organisation celebrated the assassination of Gandhi at the hands of Nathuram Godse as “Shaurya Divas” (Bravery Day).

The Hindutva outfit has held Gandhi responsible for India’s partition. Godse and his co-conspirator Narayan Apte were executed on November 15, 1949.
Pooja Shakun Pandey, now the second assassin of Bapu has been seen with two senior BJP leaders - former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and union minister Uma Bharti - in pictures she posted on Facebook, shared on March 19, 2017. Which seems to have been removed after this appalling incident.
