HC asks UP Chief Secy to look into complaint against two bureaucrats

Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday directed the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary to look into IPS officer Amitabh Thakur's complaint of harassment against two bureaucrats.

A bench of Justice Narayan Shukla and Justice Virendra Kumar (II) passed the order after hearing Amitabh Thakur's counsel Nutan Thakur and the state government counsel.

In the complaint, Amitabh Thakur had alleged that former Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan and former Principal Secretary (Home) Debashish Panda had prepared many forged documents relating to his suspension.

He also claimed that was kept suspended in an illegal manner for more than six months -- his suspension was extended twice -- against the provisions of law.

Amitabh Thakur had made many representations before the state government and filed the petition after "compete inaction" at their end.

The court said that since Ranjan is no longer the Chief Secretary, Amitabh Thakur should present his grievance before the present Chief Secretary who will look into it and take an appropriate decision on merit.
