Uttar Pradesh allows multiplexes, cinema halls, gyms to open from July 5

The Uttar Pradesh government on Friday further eased the Covid-19 restrictions, allowing multiplexes, cinema halls, gyms and sport stadiums to open from next week with strict protocols in place.

The decision to further unlock Uttar Pradesh was taken during a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday. The new guidelines will come into effect from July 5, Adityanath said in the meeting.

Addressing the team constituted for Covid-19 management in the state, Yogi Adityanath said, "The business of cinema hall operators has been affected due to Covid-19. Their needs and problems should be considered sympathetically."

Moreover, Yogi Adityanath recommended setting up "Health ATMs" across several Uttar Pradesh villages and metropolitan area.

People can get their blood pressure, pulse rate, body mass index, body fat, height, body temperature, and oxygen level and other parameters checked at these "Health ATMs".

"In efforts to provide better health facilities to the people of the state, setting up of "Health ATMs" in villages, small towns and metropolitan areas should be considered," Yogi Adityanath said.

Health workers and technicians will be trained to operate these "Health ATMS". Yogi Adityanath said a detailed action plan in this regard should be prepared at the earliest.

Purvanchal Expressway to be made operational by August

Yogi Adityanath also said the construction of the Purvanchal Expressway is almost complete, and it will be opened for the public soon. "An action plan should also be prepared for the development of industrial clusters along the expressway," he said.

COVID-19 in U.P

Yogi Adityanath said the coronavirus situation in Uttar Pradesh is currently under control and the infection rate is minimal.

So far, more than 5,83,82,000 tests have been done in the state. More than 2.5 lakh Covid-19 tests are being conducted every day, while the positivity rate has come down to less than 1 per cent. In the last 24 hours, 2,70,723 Covid tests were done in the state.

As many as 133 new cases of infection were reported in the last 24 hours, while 228 patients have recovered after getting treatment.
