Gorakhpur hospital tragedy: Alld HC fixes October 18 as date of hearing

Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing of oxygen death cases in BRD Medical college and fixed October 18 as next date of hearing.

On Tuesday member secretary , UP State Legal Services Authority filed a report alongwith supporting materials in a sealed envelope.

Committee constituted by the state government also placed their report in a sealed cover.

More than 30 kids had died at the hospital in 48 hours (August 9 to 11) allegedly due to lack of oxygen supply.

The Bench comprising Chief Justice DB Bhosale and justice MK Gupta was hearing several PILs filed by Sunita Sharma and several others.

The petitions sought a judicial inquiry into the incident and speedy conviction of the guilty parties. They have alleged negligence of the doctors, who have been accused of not clearing long-pending dues with the oxygen supplier, as the cause of the tragedy.
