Lucknow, Unleashing a caustic attack on the previous governments for neglecting development in the state, CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that the Noida Int'l Airport is now being built on the same land of Bhatta Parsaul which had been in the limelight for a long time for the violent clashes between the police and farmers during the agitation against land acquisition.

"The foundation stone of Jewar Airport, Asia's largest, in Noida has been laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 25. The farmers of Bhatta Parsaul happily gave their land to the government after our government was formed, that too only on twice the compensation rather than four times," said the CM while attending the PM Gati Shakti North Zone Conference in Lucknow.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM maintained that PM Modi launched Gati Shakti to give a new impetus to infrastructure-related projects within the country.

'Gati' and 'Shakti' are symbolic to each other. PM Gati Shakti is becoming a big medium for boosting infrastructure development. During the earlier governments, the schemes of development were used to run with the speed of a tortoise, he said.

But the UP government did not allow the development works to stop despite the global pandemic situation. Through the PM Gati Shakti, despite the odd conditions, Purvanchal Expressway is now ready and operational. The Bundelkhand Expressway will be also operational by December, the CM added.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state government had integrated the projects of 16 departments and agencies in the first phase to strengthen the PM Gati Shakti platform. In the second phase, 11 departments and agencies are being identified for integration on Gati Shakti Portal.

As per the intention of PM, several investment-related works have been done in the state. In the Ease of Doing Business, Uttar Pradesh has jumped from number 14 position to number 2. The state is progressing as the economy of the country today.

"When our government came in 2017, the annual budget of the state was only Rs 2 lakh crores. We increased the resources of the state and efforts have been made to remove the anomalies in Uttar Pradesh that are hindering the development of Uttar Pradesh. A single window platform has been created for investment in the state through which 340 services are available . We worked on saving lives and livelihood," he said.

CM Yogi further said "if the intentions are pure and clear, any big problem can be solved. Not a single farmer who gave land for Jewar airport is dissatisfied. We have got 3300 acres of land in the first phase." The rest of the land will also be available soon, he added.

Attributing the better law and order situation in UP for attracting investments, the CM said that after the formation of his government in UP, within the completion of one year, the first investor summit was held. We have received investment proposals of around Rs 5 lakh crore. Out of that, more than 3 lakh crore investment proposals have been seen on the grounds today.

After independence till 2017, only one and a half expressways were built in the state, while in the last four and a half years, Purvanchal Expressway has not only been completed, but Ganga Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, and Gorakhpur Link Expressway will soon be available for people.

In addition, the Chief Minister also said that till the year 2017 there were only four airports in Uttar Pradesh namely Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Agra. The present government started flights from Prayagraj, Kanpur, Hindon, Bareilly, and Kushinagar airports. The state now has 9 functional airports.

An international airport is coming up in Ayodhya. Aligarh, Azamgarh, Shravasti, Moradabad, Chitrakoot, and Sonbhadra airports will also start soon. Similarly, the metro is running in Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Noida, and Greater Noida. Work is going on in Agra and Kanpur. Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Jhansi will also start soon, asserted the CM.

Talking about the health infrastructure in UP, CM Yogi said that his government is building one medical college each in 59 districts of UP. Health infrastructure has improved a lot in the state. Investments have been attracted due to better law and order. The state is continuously progressing on the path of progress.

Yogi Adityanath said that in the last four and a half years, the state was 'free' from riots.

PM Gati Shakti - National Master Plan for Multi-modal Connectivity

The multi-modal connectivity will provide integrated and seamless connectivity for movement of people, goods, and services from one mode of transport to another. It will facilitate the last mile connectivity of infrastructure and also reduce travel time for people.

PM Gati Shakti will incorporate the infrastructure schemes of various Ministries and State Governments like Bharatmala, Sagarmala, inland waterways, dry/land ports, UDAN etc. Economic Zones like textile clusters, pharmaceutical clusters, defence corridors, electronic parks, industrial corridors, fishing clusters, agri zones will be covered to improve connectivity & make Indian businesses more competitive. It will also leverage technology extensively including spatial planning tools with ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) imagery developed by BiSAG-N (Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics).
