HC orders UP govt to finalise local body elections by November

Lucknow: Fateh Bahadur Singh took oath as the Acting President (Pro Tem Speaker) of the legislative assembly on Monday. Administered by Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, the oath was taken by Singh in Sanskrit language.

Fateh Bahadur was appointed as the Pro Tem Speaker of the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday last by the UP Governor, on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s request.

Singh has replaced the Samajwadi Party leader Mata Prasad Pandey as the assembly speaker who was elected in 2012 by the then ruling government.
