Farrukhabad: Following the ruckus inside the Farrukhabad Jail in Uttar Pradesh, Jailer DK Singh has been suspended while six jail guards have been removed. Dr. Neeraj Kumar has also been transferred from jail.

The whole case has been handed over to DIG headquarters RP Singh. DIG Jail is asked to submit the report of the same within 15 days.

The matter:

The scene turned uglier when a prisoner fell ill owing to the poor quality food, following which other prisoners lost their cool and began stone pelting at the police officers.

Enraged prisoners also broke and torched furniture after which district police came to action.

Chaos continued for almost four hours. Things are, however, under control. Several cops including Jail Superintendent sustained injuries.
