Failed to meet CM Adityanath, man attempts self-immolation

Gorakhpur: A man tried to set himself ablaze outside the Gorakhnath temple here on Sunday after failing to meet the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is on a two day visit in his parliamentary constituency.

Police took him under its custody after he sprayed petrol on his body and attempted to immolate self. He has been identified as Rajkumar Bharti.

He demanded waiver of loan amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh which he took for his treatment. Police prevented him from taking such an extreme step and took him to nearby police station.
