EC launches app for effective monitoring of UP assembly polls

Lucknow: In order to bring in more transparency and effective monitoring of upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Election Commission has launched a new mobile application. This application has been developed by the Uttar Pradesh unit of the National Informatics Centre.

The application has been launched , primarily, to monitor ongoing revision of electoral rolls before the UP elections of 2017.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Anil Garg said that the application will prove handy not only for the public but for the political parties as well. "The mobile app for Electoral Roles Management System (ERMS) will provide details regarding addition and deletion of names of voters from the list, said Garg.

He also stated that the status of the applications filed by voters for either deleting or adding of name will also be available booth-wise on the app.
