Demolish illegal buildings, orders Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow: Chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed the officials of housing and urban planning department to get the illegally constructed structures bulldozed and fix responsibility of the officials during whose tenure the structures cropped up in the past many years.

Presiding over a review meeting of the housing department, Yogi asked the officials to come up with a robust compounding policy for the illegally constructed structures and take public opinion for the same. Yogi said the development authorities make teams to identify the unauthorized structures.

The occupants, he said, be asked to demolish the illegal structures themselves of the authority would be bound to demolish it. As per estimates, UP has over 3000 colonies which do not have their requisite map sanctioned by the authorities.

Uttar Pradesh is currently under strict vigilence ahead of the violent protests against the controversial citizenship amendment act.
