CM Yogi Adityanath assures TCS employees of good news in 2-3 days

Lucknow: As the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced to shut down its Lucknow branch in December this year, over 65,000 troubled techies met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to inform about their plight.

They also submitted a memorandum with the CM over the same at the Janata Darbar, organised at the Chief Minister’s official residence at 5 Kalidas Marg.

“If a company as big as TCS would leave the state, how would any smaller companies would dare to invest here? It will send out a wrong message to the small companies, as TCS has been operative in the state capital since past 33 years,” stated the troubled techies.

“The company’s departure will also leave several software engineers jobless,” they added.

After hearing the problems of the employees, CM Yogi assured them of good news in next two-three days.

“I have been in touch with senior TCS officials. They have told me that they will do something that would not downcast the employees. I can assure you all that some good news will come in next 2-3 days,” said the UP CM.

It may be mentioned that following a steep rise in the rent of the building where the company is running its office, TCS has announced that it would shut down its Lucknow branch by the end of 2017. The company, however, is reportedly planning to shift the employees to Nagpur, Indore, Noida and Kolkata centers.
