Bulandshahr: Police inspector killed amid violence over cow

According to information here, members of several Hindu groups with an alleged cow carcass gathered on the Bulandshahr-Syana road and pelted stones at the police personnel.

Bulandshahr: A Police Inspector Subodh Singh was killed while four others were critically injured in Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh on Monday after violence broke out in the aftermath of an alleged case of cow slaughter.

The profusely bleeding inspector and other injured officers were rushed to the Aurangabad community health centre (CHC) where Subodh was pronounced dead on arrival. The condition of other officers are critical.

District magistrate Anup Kumar Jha and ADG Meerut Zone Prashant Kumar have immediately deployed to the incident spot.

The senior police officials have rushed to the crime scene to contain the violence, which threatens peace in the entire region.

The Hindu Yuva Vahini and Bajrang Dal activists also vandalized vehicles and attacked police officials. They torched several passing vehicles.
