Lucknow: The state government has focused on improving farmers' earnings through enhanced support for the agricultural economy. Top priority has been accorded to irrigation and water supply schemes in Uttar Pradesh and Rs 1000 crore has been earmarked in the state budget for Mukhya Mantri Laghu Sinchai Yojana.

Installation of solar pumps is being done in the fields of farmers under the Pradhanmantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan Yojana. A provision has been made to establish 15,000 solar pumps in the year 2022-2023

Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana has been implemented from 14th September 2019. Under the scheme, there is a provision to give a maximum of Rs 5 lakh in case of accidental death/disability. An amount of Rs 650 crore has been proposed for this scheme in the budget for the financial year 2022-2023.

Quality seeds are of utmost importance in boosting agricultural yield. The state government will distribute 60.20 lakh quintals of seeds in 2022-23. In 2022-23, 119.30 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer to be distributed.

Ensuring the availability of fertilizers in sufficient quantity to the farmers, the government has set a target to distribute 119.30 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers in the year 2022-2023.

It may be recorded that the government has made a record payment of cane price to farmers worth Rs. 1,72,745 crore till 16th May, 2022, which is Rs. 77,530 crores more than the payment of Rs. 95,215 crore made by the previous government. Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, Rs. 42,565 crores were transferred in Uttar Pradesh.
