Deoria: A BA II year student, who threatened to blow up Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, was arrested from Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district on Thursday.

In-charge superintendent Chiranjivi Nath Sinha said police has received a hoax call on July 9 from a mobile number with a threatening message to blow up the Vidhan Sabha on Independence Day.

Sinha said that police, after getting the information, arrested accused Farhan Ahmed from Tarkulva area of Tavkkalpur Bandhe.

"We recovered two mobile sets from him," he said. "The accused Farhan accepted that he had plans to blow up Vidhan Sabha on August 15," he added.

In-charge superintendent said that he was calling from a fake number which he bought from Deoria.

Farhan Ahmed, son of Wazir Ahmed, is a residential of Kavla village, near Chapar thana.
