Blast near venue of Congress VP Rahul Gandhi's rally in Shahjahanpur

Shahjahanpur: Exposing a shocking case of security lapse, a massive blast occurred in a bike nearby the venue in Shahjahanpur where Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting on Tuesday.

Police is investigating the cause of blast.

What is the incident?

• Blast occurred in a bike following fire on late Monday evening at Nigoha area in Shahjahanpur.
• The incident occurred just 200 metres away from the venue where Rahul will lead a road show and also address the people.
• Police is trying to find out the reason behind the blast and fire.

Police took too much time to reach the site:

• Rahul Gandhi is a SPG Security holder.
• A team of local police reached the incident site nearly 30 minutes after it was informed.
• Police has launched a hunt for the owner of the bike.
