BJP MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi inspects sewer line on the request of the residents of Lucknow Cantt

BJP MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi inspects sewer line

Lucknow. Assurance was given by Jal Nigam officials to Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, former MLA, Lucknow Cantt and MP Prayagraj, to complete the reconstruction work of Alambagh roads, which were demolished due to sewer line, by November 2021.

It may be mentioned that as MLA, between 2013 and 2017 Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi had fought a long struggle to get sewer line installed in the Cantt assembly. The result of his struggle was that a sewer project worth Rs 241 crore was approved in JNNURM first and after the scheme changed its name to Amrit.

In the context of reconstruction of sewer lines and roads after road cutting in Alambagh under Amrit Yojna under construction Distt 4 Z one 4 phase 1 and 2, MP Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi held a review meeting with the officials of Jal Nigam that November Till then all the damaged roads will be reconstructed.


In the review meeting, the officials said that out of 155 km of sewerage falling in Alambagh area, 49 km of sewerage is lying. He said that after road cutting, the roads are repaired by Jal Nigam on behalf of Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation. The funds for the above work have been received by the Public Works Department and Jal Nigam.

According to the representation given by the MP Prof. Joshi on behalf of the citizens, the matter of sub-road cutting and plight was raised, then the officials told that about 3.5 km of public works and 46 km of municipal roads have been cut. Both the organizations have started the road construction work, but due to Kovid and rainy season the work is going on at a slow pace.


He also told that the location of the pumping station has been found at Ashiana, 3 km away with great difficulty.

Describing the action of both the departments as insufficient, MP Joshi demanded that in any case the reconstruction work of the cut roads of Alambagh should be completed by November 2021 so that the life of the residents of the area could be made easier.
