Ballia barracks flooded, inmates being shift to another jail

Speaking to the media, additional District Magistrate, Ramashray, said that, "I was informed by the jail authorities that the water has gushed into the barracks of the jail. Around 500 of prisoners are being sent to Azamghar Jail and others are being shifted to Ambedkar Nagar Jail."

Ballia: As several parts of Uttar Pradesh is facing the deluge situation, prisoners in Ballia district jail are being shifted to different prisons after floodwater gushed into barracks.

The floodwater entered the barracks after heavy rainfall in various parts of the region.

Several areas are affected by water logging; inmates and the jail authorities are seen wading through Knee-deep water. Due to heavy rainfall, there is rise in water level of Ganga and Yumuna river.
