Lucknow: Asma Hussain Institute of Fashon Technology (AIFT) started a center at Raj Bhawan, Lucknow for skill development under the sponsorship of ODOP.

UP Governor Anandiben inaugurates the center:

The Hon’ble Governor of U.P Smt. Anandiben Patel inaugurated the center. In her speech she gave her blessings to the students and Asma Hussain Institute Of Fashon Technology; she said, “I am very happy by the women who are taking an initiative to become independent and coming forward. Even the ladies who are housewives should utilise their free time and learn a skill and earn extra money so they are not dependent on their husbands.”

She took a tour of the Center and highly appreciated the exhibition of the work done by Asma Hussain Institute of fashon Technology (AIFT).

New AIFT center at Raj Bhawan, Lucknow:

Asma Hussain welcomed the Chief Guest Hon’ble Governor of U.P Anandiben Patel, guest and Students. In her welcome speech she said that this is a beginning of a new era in the history of Raj Bhawan where an initiative to empower women is being taken by our Governor.

She explained that the center started at Raj Bhawan focuses on women empowerment; she spoke about the methodology of the programme which would include skilling the students into craftsmanship, value addition and entrepreneurship.

Navneet Sehgal also attended the ceremony:

Mr Navneet Sehgal spoke about the training of women under the AIFT Center at Raj Bhawan. He also said that at the end of the training program the top 20 students will get sewing machines by ODOP.

Tool Kits with stationary and raw material along with Uniforms and bags were distributed to all the students. The first batch of 40 students will begin from 1st December 2020.

The dignitaries present at the function were, Mr. Mahesh Gupta, ACS, Mr. Govinda Raju N.S, IAS, Director Industries UP, Mr. Sunil Kumar, Joint Commissioner ODOP, Mr. DP Singh, Director IED UP.
