Alliance was necessary to stop BJP from entering UP: Ashok Gehlot

Kanpur: Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan and a senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has declared the SP-Congress alliance as the need of the hour for the betterment of Uttar Pradesh. Gehlot stated that the alliance was necessary to stop communal forces like Bhartiya Janata Party from entering the state.

"Congress has accepted this alliance because it was necessary to stop BJP who are trying to spread communalism in every part of the country. For us country is bigger than any party. This alliance will spread a positive message in each corner of the country and will bring an impactful change in the politics of the nation," said the former Rajasthan CM.

Gehlot further attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, " Modi himself would be responsible for the loss of BJP in ensuing elections of the UP. His body language and statements at the public rallies show that the graph of BJP is falling downwards.
