Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court on Friday stayed for three weeks, the criminal proceeding and summoning order issued against film director /producer Rakesh Roshan in a case related to violation of copyright material related to movie Krish 3.

The order was passed by the justice Suneet Kumar on a petition filed by Rakesh Roshan under section 482 CrPC challenging the summoning order dated March 11,2016 issued by ACJM Kairana, district Shamli by which the Court has directed Rakesh Roshan for his appearance fixing April 11, 2016 in the matter.

It is to recall that one Manish Shastri of District Shamli had filed a criminal complaint against Rakesh Roshan with the allegation that script of Krish 3 was copied by Rakesh Roshan from his novel without his knowledge and consent.

It is further alleged that he came to know after the same only after the release of the film on which the ACJM Kairana has summoned Rakesh Roshan under section 420, 466, 467, 471 of IPC and section 60 & 63 of copyright Act.

While granting three weeks time to file counter affidavit the court passed the order to direct the case thereafter.
