Allahabad: The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday stated before the Allahabad High Court that there was no need to transfer the investigation of Akhlaq’s murder case of Dadri to Central Bureau of Investigation as the charge sheet has been submitted by the UP Police against the accused person after completion of investigation.

Therefore the trial court before which the charge sheets have been filed would look into the matter. The state government further stated that Akhlaq who was killed for allegedly keeping beef has been investigated in the most fair manner.

Keeping the affidavit filed by state government on record a division bench comprising justice Ajay Lamba and justice Raghavendra directed the petitioner to file rejoinder affidavit in response to counter affidavit and fix May 4 as next date of hearing.

The father of the accused Sanjay Singh has requested the court to transfer the investigation to CBI as according to him police had falsely implicated their son in this case due to political reasons as he belongs to BJP. He also sought stay of the entire proceeding pending before the trial court.
