Kumbh: Crores of devotees plunge into confluence for second 'Shahi Snan'

This would be the second royal bath since the start of the Kumbh fair on January 15. The first royal bath took place on Makar Sankranti on the opening day, while the third will be held on Basant Panchami on February 10.

Prayagraj: Crores of devotees have reached Prayagraj to take a second royal bath in the holy triveni confluence on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya. The auspicious time of Mauni Amavasya started on February 3, at 11:52 pm, which will end on February 4 at 01:12.

This would be the second royal bath since the start of the Kumbh fair on January 15. The first royal bath took place on Makar Sankranti on the opening day, while the third will be held on Basant Panchami on February 10.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has greeted people on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya today.

According to Mela Administration over 300 million pilgrims will take 'Shahi Snan. The 49-day long Kumbh Mela will conclude on the 4th of March.

A heavy security force has been deployed keeping in view the large number of devotees, the entire area is under surveillance of 440 CCTV cameras and for close coordination and prompt communication, an Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) and 12 wireless grids have also been established. Toll-free helpline number has also been launched.
