Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday directed Uttar Pradesh government to file a report on enquiry conducted by investigating agency in the case of missing records related to appointment of SK Singh, as secretary of UP Higher Education Service Commission (UPHESC).

The bench comprising justice Arun Tandon and justice AK Mishra passed this order while hearing a petition filed by Dr Dhirendra Singh.

The petitioner's contention was that secretary of UPHESC has used fake marksheet to get his appointment for the post and has claimed to be member of schedule tribes and used caste certificate to avail certain benefits.

Counsel representing secretary argued that though Singh belongs to ST category but has not availed any benefit of reserved category and this issue is irrelevant in the case.

The Bench has directed state government to file the enquiry report by the next date of hearing which has been fixed on April 18.

Earlier, the court had restrained him from performing his duties as UPHESC secretary and directed the government to file a counter affidavit with regard to his education qualifications and caste certificate.
