Allahabad: Five people including two police men and a retired cop have been killed in a gunfight between two groups in Akauni village here on Sunday. The incident happened under Kaudhiyara police station area.

Four persons died on the spot while one succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Deceased are identified as Ram Kailash (65), Suresh (37), Shivsevak (50), Premsevak (48) and Vimal Kumar (25).

However, three villagers received injuries and were rushed to the nearby hospital.

Massive police force have been deployed in the area to take the situation under control.

Both the groups entered into a heated argument which later turned violent over the construction of a temple in the place.

Police said that Shivsevak’s family, including Premsevak and Vimal Kumar, were sharing bitter relation with Ram Kailash, and Suresh since past three years. The reason was a piece of land where a temple was to be constructed.
