Allahabad: Congress leaders of Allahabad on Saturday burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi near Allahabad’s Hotel Kanha, where the Bhartiya Janata Party was holding a meeting at the same time.

Congress leader Sanjay Tiwari and others had forcibly shut down the shops of the locality and protested against the Prime Minister, raising slogans.

What the protesters said:

The promises made by the Modi government could never be fulfilled.

Despite of the fact that Modi claimed he was once a tea vendor, why the keepers were forced to close their tea-shops ahead of Modi’s visit to the city.
