Alld HC summons ADM Allahabad over magh mela land allotment

Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court while dealing with magh mela land allotment row has summoned ADM, Allahabad (Magh mela) along with records of land allotment on February 2 which is fixed as next date of hearing.

The Bench comprising justice Tarun Agarwala and justice Abhay Kumar passed this order while hearing a petition filed by Akhil Bharat Varshiya Dharm Sangh (ABVDS), Varanasi.

In the petition it was said that ABVDS was established by Karpatri ji maharaj in 1945 and since it allotted land by the authorities. However, one another Akhil Bharatiya Dharm Sangh (ABDS) later came into existent and both sanghs were allotted equal size of land in mela.

According to petitioner on January 3 also the land was allotted to both sangh but later on ADM, Allahabad , by its order dated January 10 cancelled petitioner’s allotment stating that it will disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the mela. Petitioner against this order approached the court.

The Court has summoned the records related to land allotment and has asked the authorities to explain that if land was allotted to petitioner in the past also then suddenly why land allotment was cancelled.
